Merriam-Webster defines Recreation as "refreshment of strength and spirits after work". There is no better place to renew and refresh than being in nature.
"Getting away from it all" can be as close as one of the many parks in the Township or a short trip to an amusement park or ski resort in our area. The many sporting organizations available to residents in the Township offer many forms of recreation and with the help of the Pennsylvania Recreation and Park Society, the Township is able to offer discounted tickets to many area theme parks and ski resorts.
Choices abound: Ride your bike along the miles of trails in the Township, try your skill at pickleball in Charles Reed Park, shoot some hoops, get a pick-up game together for roller hockey, take a swim at the Harleysville Community Center pools, sharpen your handicap at Lederach Golf Club, explore our historic park properties, fish our ponds and streams or relax on a bench. The choices are many and they are all up to you.
IN-HOME RECREATION :
With the COVID-19 Pandemic keeping us safely social distancing at home we are all, especially those with children at home, looking for Indoor Entertainment. Our good friends at Whitemarsh Township compiled a very thorough listing of activities, crafts, virtual tours and tips for these unprecedented times. Please link below to the Whitemarsh website. Lower Salford thanks The Whitemarsh Parks and Recreation Department for their efforts and is pleased to share this information with our residents.
